Friendship Project

10/02/2021

The bad news? Mental health is at an all-time low, there have been predictions of a 20% increase in demand for support and many services are not ready to meet those needs.

The good news? Pepper’s is here to support you and we have the resources ready.

Our team have been working hard over the past few months to set up an exciting new project, The Friendship Project.

The aim is to provide a listening ear to anyone struggling within our community. If you’re struggling with daily stresses, your mental health is suffering, getting out into the community is proving difficult or you’re feeling low, we’re here to listen.

You can call our reception and we’ll get you set up with a suitable volunteer who will call you at an agreed time for a friendly chat.

It could be a one-off call, you could arrange to meet up for a walk or coffee, the volunteer could attend a Pepper’s session with you, or they can check in with you for a chat each week, it’s up to you.

There’s no pressure, no agenda and no charge.

We’re a friendly and supportive team, Mental Health First Aid trained, and we want to see our community’s mental health boosted.

This project will be launching in March 2021.

More information on this project can be found here.
